Every project starts the same way. I read the science before I draw a line. Whether you need one figure for a paper or a full set of training material, the work is checked against the sources first, then drawn for the people who have to understand it.
Services
For researchers
I make graphical abstracts, journal figures, technical schematics, conference posters and proposal visuals. Send me the manuscript and I will read it properly, ask questions where necessary, and turn the result into a figure that holds up to scientific scrutiny and catches the eye.
For the agricultural industry and education
I make infographics, training material, protocols, guidelines and campaign visuals for the fresh produce and agricultural value chain. Having worked as an auditor, a food safety manager and a researcher, I know what a technical document asks of a grower or a packhouse team, and I know how to draw it so it is remembered.
For events and media
I offer live graphic recording at conferences and workshops, sketchnote summaries of papers and presentations. You receive high-resolution files that speakers, delegates and your communications team can share on social media the same day.
How it works
We meet in person or online. You tell me about the project, who it is for and what you want it to achieve.
I send a quote with a timeline. Work starts on a 50% deposit.
I research the subject and send a rough sketch or storyboard for approval, so we agree on the idea before the detailed work begins.
I produce the full draft.
Two rounds of revisions are included. Larger changes of direction after that are quoted separately.
On final payment you receive the final files in every format you need, along with the right to use the work wherever your project takes it.

A graphical abstract or spot illustration usually takes one to two weeks from approved sketch to final files. Multi-panel pieces take two to four weeks. If you have a submission deadline, tell me at the start and I will plan around it.
-
An hour of your time to start with, so I can understand the project properly. After that, the source material, whether that is a manuscript, a standard or a presentation, and a sense of who will see the finished piece. You do not need to know what you want it to look like. That is my job.
-
Two rounds of revisions are included in every quote. Because we agree on a sketch before the detailed work starts, most projects need fewer.
-
I keep the copyright, as illustrators generally do, and you receive an exclusive, permanent licence to use the work for your project once the final invoice is paid. You will never have to pay again to use it. I ask only to show the work in my portfolio.
-
Yes. The licence covers all your uses of the work, and I deliver the files in the formats each of those needs.
-
Yes. My training is in plant pathology and food safety, but I have illustrated everything from truffels to seed breeding to theology. What I bring to a new subject is the ability to read the literature and ask the right questions before I draw.
-
Most pieces start by hand in soft pastel or pencil and are finished digitally. Where a project calls for clean vector graphics, such as diagrams, I work digitally from the start. I do not use AI to generate pictures. Everything is drawn for you.
-
Yes. Send me the author guidelines and I will deliver to the required dimensions, resolution, colour mode and file format.
-
I attend your event and draw the content as it happens, on paper or on a tablet, so a visual summary of each session is ready as it ends. You receive the files the same day for sharing with delegates and on social media.
